Maria Tyson
Fashion Stylist and Wardrobe Consultant Maria Tyson, has over 15 years of experience working in the Vancouver fashion industry.
Maria’s most current focus has been personal styling for events such as interviews, auditions, Red carpet and special events.
Her portfolio includes wardrobe design and production for film, hosting wardrobe consulting and fashion styling seminars, personal shopping, fashion show styling and production, photo shoot styling, including children’s styling, visual merchandising, inventory control, and retail management. She also has experience working in the wholesale division for Tommy Hilfiger’s Vancouver head office.
Maria’s Education
As an extremely self-motivated and driven individual, Maria utilizes her diverse educational background and applies it to all of her fashion endeavours. Having received a BA in Criminology from Simon Fraser University, Maria applies her critical thinking skills to analyse social patterns such as trends, and then applies the psychology of dress into meticulously dressing her clients.
Maria was honoured with the 2007/2008 Award of Excellence from John Casablanca’s Institute where she received her Diploma in Fashion Business and Creative Arts.
Maria has also been on the Board of Directors for a national nonprofit organization called Trends. As a mentor, Maria’s ambition was to empower and inspire the female youth in the program by educating them through various seminars, workshops, and outings. By approaching topics such as how to dress various body shapes, the youth could gain an awareness of how the clothing they choose impacts the impression they have on others.
There is a symbiotic relationship between knowledge and confidence. Maria’s mission is to build confidence by empowering her clients to feel comfortable making informed decisions that are specific to their personal lifestyle and needs.
